Silent Night

A Shivering Thrill

Hey guys! How are you today? I hope you guys are doing fine and well, here's another Halloween post for you guys! So, I don't know about you, but I have definitely been catching up on my favorite Halloween movies. Now, there are some movies I'd like to share with you guys and you should totally check them out! Lets get started!
Now, the first one I'd like to share with you is, of course, Goosebumps! Goosebumps used to, literally, give me goosebumps and scare me. As a kid, although the shows and movies scared me, I looked forward to watching it! Goosebumps is on Netflix so go check it out! (Warning: Graphics are very cheesy.)
Harry Potter will ALWAYS be an all-time favorite movie. Not just to watch on holidays but to watch any time! I've loved all the movies and will always watch the movies during Halloween. If you haven't already seen any of the Harry Potter movies, you're missing out!
This movie is my favorite for Halloween. I used to be so incredibly obsessed with this movie. I remember falling in love with this movie the first time I watched it. It has a pretty sweet story to it and it is appropriate for all ages. It is not scary at all, and you will love it, trust me. Go watch it!
Now, the next movies are scary, so beware. The Uninvited is such an amazing mystery movie and has a great twist towards the end. I personally did not feel like this movie was scary, but to a few of my friends that have seen it said it was. I would categorize it as a mystery/ thriller. So if you're into those genres, then definitely check this movie out!
This movie is for you game-loving people. When I first watched Stay Alive, it gave me nightmares, I didn't want to play any kind of games for a while, and much less even dare look at the mirror. This is a horror/thriller movie so if you get scared easily, this movie is definitely not for you. But if you don't mind the spine-chillin thrills, then by all means, go watch!

Salem's Lot will give you one freaky thrill, I can tell you that right now. If you did not recognize from the movie title, it is the works of the amazing and phenomenal Stephen King. The story is about a young man coming back to his home town that forever scared him. One night he had to live through a horrible nightmare and is back to confront his fear. I wont give out too much information, just that it includes scary vampire images, gruesome scenes, and language. It is rated "R." This movie is pretty long, I believe it is roughly around three hours, more or less. But if you really love horror movies, definitely check this movie out!
And last but not least, Dead Silence. Obviously by the creepy picture, it is a horror movie rated "R" and will definitely give you a thrill. Id categorize this movie as a thriller/horror movie. It was just an marvelous movie and the story line was just magnificent. Definitely gave me nightmares but it was totally worth it!

I hope you've all enjoyed this post and hopefully you go check out some of these movies. Let me know what you think of them if you do! Tell me on twitter or Instagram! ( @johanazel) I hope you all have a great rest of the day!

DIY Halloween ideas

Time for arts and crafts!

Hey lovelies! How is everyone's month of October so far? Anything exciting? I know yesterday was October the Third...ring a bell for you Mean Girl fans out there?

Haha, sorry I just had to include that in here! But anyways! Lets jump right into what this post is all about: Cute DIY ideas for Halloween. Usually, I personally think that the simpler the idea, the better. So for instance, lets say you want to add a Halloween vibe to your kitchen but don't want to spend money. What can you do? I've got an idea! So, you'll need a sharpie and some oranges. Simply draw on a little face on your oranges and decorate them in a presentable way that will be noticed by guest. It is honestly such a simple and quick DIY and takes less than five minutes. It adds a cute vibe to your kitchen and all you did was simply decorate your oranges!
Another quick and simple DIY would be a Kleenex box of popcorn. I know, it sounds strange but its really quick and easy to do! So, obviously, what you need is an empty Kleenex box, decorating utensils, glue, paint, scissors, zip blog bag and construction paper. Now, the way you decorate your tissue box is really up to you. The easiest "monster" that I feel is easy to make would have to be Frankenstein. First, start off by cutting off the top portion of the Kleenex box. Now, this step is optional, you can start off by painting the inside of your box with paint and let it dry or just skip this step and go on to the next. The reason why I feel like you should add plastic to your box is that so when you're eating out of this Kleenex box you wont get disgusted by the grease marks of the popcorn on the inside cardboard of the Kleenex box. Its just to keep it looking nice and polished. Then, cut the sides of your sip blog bag and you should have to pieces. Cut off the "zip" part and clue the plastic to the walls of the inside of your Kleenex box. Grab another zip blog bag and do the same thing to the other two sides of the inside of the Kleenex box. Once that is done, start decorating the outside of your box! You can paint it, cut out shapes of your construction paper and glue it on, add glitter, and just anything to make your box have a Halloween vibe to it! Next, just add popcorn in the Kleenex box and you're done!
Next DIY idea is a jar full of candy. This is beyond self explanatory. Just simply find a jar with or with out the lid, fill it up with candy, and bam you're done! Obviously, if you'd like to paint the jar, hmm let's say black, and add a cool logo to it like "elixir" or something like that, go for it! Just have fun with decorating the jar to your liking.
Last DIY is Goodie cups! What you will need is some plastic cups, paint, glue, scissors, and colorful pipe cleaners for arts and craft. So first start off by painting the outside and inside of your cups any color. Let it completely dry. Then, with your scissors or a hole punches, cup to holes at the side of the cup towards the top of the cup. Like, probable half and inch away from the top of the cup. Next, cut out shapes and paste them to the cup and decorate to your liking. Finally, Tie the pipe cleaners to the side of the cup and you're done! You can fill these cups up with candy and pass it out to your guests and what not. It is very cute and very easy to make!
So that is it for todays video! I hope you all enjoyed these DIY mini projects! If you re-create anything or just create something, be sure to let me know, id love to see! You can follow me on instagram and tag me on your picture! Id LOVE to see! Instagram: johanazel
Well, that is it for this time, until next time! Bye!

Falling into Autumn

Halloween is creeping its way in

Hello, lovelies! Guess what? Autumns finally here! WOO-HOO!
I absolutely LOVE this time of year! Have you felt the climate change yet? cool breezes are starting to roll its way in and they are finally here to stay. With that said, guess what else is coming up? Ill give you three seconds to guess...1....2....3...HALLOWEEN! I'm so incredibly pumped to see whats in stores for Halloween and I'm totally looking forward towards all the amazing costumes! Ill share with you some costume ideas and what i'd love to be for Halloween so lets get started!

First off, happy early (incredibly early) Halloween! <3
Now, for years and years I've always wanted to be Morticia Addams whom was played by Carolyn Jones! This would be the perfect dark and sassy Halloween look and it definitely doesn't involve too, too much drastic makeup and expensive costumes. Simply "dead" yourself with a nice pale makeup face, slip on a black dress, straighten your hair, add some jewelry and bam! You're Mrs. Addams!
Perhaps you want something a little more "scary"? How about a cute vampire like Elena played by Nina Dobrev? I think Nina's vampire look is incredibly amazing! I love the vampire look more when she plays the role of Katherine, I don't know, what do you think? And whose excited to see The Vampire Diaries this October?!
Now this, my dear viewers....is amazing. Jack and Sally is a PERFECT costume for couples, in my opinion! I mean, just look at it! At first, not gonna lie, I thought it was Sally and Beetlejuice. But then it clicked that it was Jack Skellington! I really love how this costume looks, what do you think?
As shown above, I think Sally would just be the most cutest and beautiful costume. But it's all about getting it just right or else you wont get the full vibe of Sally. Ive been tempted recently to purchase the Sally costume but it's so expensive! Plus buying a wig to go with it? Too much but id say itd be totally worth it! I mean just look how amazing this costume looks when it is put together on properly. I love it!
Now, if I could somehow magically transform myself into Kat Von D for Halloween and forever... I totally would. Just look at her! She's stunning and I love everything about Kat! I love how edgy but well put together she always dresses and appears. She'd definitely unique and I would totally be incredibly happy and satisfied if I could be Kat Von D for a day.
Last but not least, a pin up girl! Old fashion is totally making a come back this year and I'm totally loving it. I think this would be a very cute outfit to throw on together for Halloween 'cause it give you and excuse to get extra dolled up and in a way it is like you're wearing a costume but you could also wear this dress anywhere because it is totally suitable for an any day dress to wear. Get me? Like, purchase this dress or something similar and wear it not only for Halloween, but whenever you want!

So, that is it for todays post and I hope you've all liked it! Also, for the month or October, i'm thinking of uploading a couple of "chilly" stories on my blog...but I'm not too sure if I'll go through with it. Let me know if you'd like that! Id probably post every Friday night, just to get into that spooky mood. Along with the post I would share some scary movies of my choice that inspire the stories of week, so that'd be great 'cause you'll be able to look up that movie and watch it and see how it ties in with my short story! Anyways, thanks for keeping up with my blog, love you all!

This time of year is perfect to start wearing all those dark colors such as those beautiful warm and deep reds, purples, green, orange, brown, and many more shades! I don't know about you, but I'm definitely looking forward towards all the warm sweaters and tights! Oh, and who can forget the Hot chocolate and knit scarfs and beanies!
Anyways, I wanted to share with you guys some fall inspired pictures that I saw and gave me ideas on what colors to pair and match so I hope these pictures help you as they have helped me! Thanks so much for keeping up with my posts and I hope you're really digging them!

School Tips

Back to School and back to a routine.

Good afternoon, lovelies! Today I wanted to post another "Back to School" post since everyone should be back in school by now! So, I'll start off with tips on how to keep your locker organized for those little munchkins that are entering or are in middle school!
So, in order to start decorating your locker, you have to find out what works best for you. Are you very neat and organized? Or do you just go with the flow and like things everywhere? It's all upon you and how you are organized. If you are someone that likes to be organized, here are some tips for you. Tip number one would have to be to know what size your locker is. Depending on how big, small, wide, and narrow will make a big difference on buying utensils to fit into your locker. You can purchase some locker shelves from your local target and can stack them to your  liking. I suggest make three divisions: The bottom one, try to make it small so you can place your pencils, erasers, high lighters, markers, colored pencils, tissues, paper clips and so on. Next, your middle section should be the biggest so that you can place your books here or any other large object. Finally, the top section should be so you can place your notebooks, folders, and binders. On the side from your locker, you can always buy some magnetic containers from your local Wal-Mart, k-mart, target, or The Container store for extra storage. Finally, you can decorate the remaining part of your locker to your liking. Some girls like adding mirrors and a small container underneath it to place their makeup, brushes, "mother nature" supplies, and just small shrinkets to decorate their locker. By following these tips, your locker will be organized and clean all year long!
Now, if you are not the organized type, that's cool too. Fersure I was one of them! But my tip (more like advice) is to get into the habit of getting organized. By throwing everything in your locker, you create a jungle of a mess in there. You can lose important papers, rip and tear notes or book, and well just a lot of horrible things start to happen all because you we're not organized. So, to survive this year, get organized!

Then, for a high school and college level advice from me would have to be to just enjoy being in school and quit hating to go. I know, we all have those days where we just dread getting up due to talking late to friends, being on social networks, or catching up with your favorite show. We're all guilty of that. My advice would have to be the sooner you break that horrible routine, the better. There's nothing better than to wake up in the morning and feeling refreshed, energized, and up for anything! When you wake up feeling great, chances are that you are going to have a great day. Start off you day by being in a great and positive attitude, having a great breakfast, and just stay optimistic throughout your day. Your day gets even better when you surround yourself with great friends with positive attitudes. Enjoy going to school, enjoy learning, enjoy socializing with your friends, enjoy those funny and stupid moments you create with friends, but most importantly, enjoy life. Life is precious and we must value it every single day. Be thankful that you have seen the sun rise and set for some don't have time to see another glorious day.

Back to School

Back to waking up to the morning birds

Hey guys! So, summer is practically over and a new school year is yet to come! This means it is time for back to school shopping! A great place to shop for school supplies, in my opinion, is Wal-Mart. Now, don't get me wrong: Kmart, H-E-B and many other places are great to shop at for school supplied, but Wal-Mart just happens to be cheaper.
Back to school shopping doesn't only pertain to school supplied but also clothes! Here are a few pictures of some back to school clothes that you can dress up or dress down according to your style.
I personally love this outfit because you're dressed up, but you're also incredibly comfortable.

This is cute for those effortless dress up days. Just add a cute hair-do and you're set!

This piece is another one of my favorites because it's both casual and girly.

I think this outfit is perfect. The knit sweater keeps you nice and warm and the light material of the skirt keeps you cool and the shoes and belt just ties the outfit together.

I like this combo because it is another effortless dress up look.

Lastly, this look, to me, is simple yet very dressed up. It's perfect for a "Friday" look.

I hope these pictures gives you a sort of idea of what kind of outfit to wear to school and what to keep an eye out when shopping. These looks are incredibly easy to recreate: It's all about knowing the right stores to shop at! Be open minded when it comes to shopping. You never know what you can find in certain stores.

A tiny little Mermaid

On August 24, 1995, a tiny little mermaid named Johana was born.

Hello Doll faces and welcome to my blog! I'm so incredibly excited to start a blog and share stories and give advice to everyone. First off, I wanted to tell you a little something about me. My names Johana and as previously stated, I was born on August 24, 1995. I'm from a lovely city called Lewisville, TX. I have two elder brothers named Luis and Javi. My brother Javi and his Girlfriend (hopefully future wife!) had a child named Isaac Alexander. He is incredibly energetic and I will probably share many stories with you about our adventures so far. I have a sweet obsession with anything to do with Anchors, Mermaids, flowers, the color blue and black, and shoes. Growing up my favorite Disney movie was The Little Mermaid. When I was seven years old, I moved to south Texas to a city called McAllen, TX. I met some of the most wonderful friends their and I am fortunate to have had crossed paths with them. My friends and I have gone through a lot together and our friendship was definitely tested through our journey through High School. I lost many friends but gained so much more! Graduation was an incredible moment for me because I knew I made it through all those sleepless nights due to studying for exams and finishing up homework. It was special because I knew that would be the last time I would see all the familiar faces that I practically grew up seeing and watching my friends graduate definitely made me feel incredibly proud of them but also sad. I felt sad because I was moving away from them and didn't know if the future would allow for our paths to cross once more. I moved back home to Lewisville after graduation to start summer College classes. I recently just finished my second class and soon shall start school with everyone else and hopefully meet new lovely people.
Everyday I get inspired by all these beautiful YouTube gurus and learn great things from them and well because of these wonderful gurus, here I am inspired and making a blog. I had a future goal to hopefully make a YouTube channel but we shall she what the future holds for me.
So that is a little bit about myself and I hope I can entertain some of you and help you in any possible way. I hope you have a splendid day, doll faces!
Xoxo- Johana
